Responsible Tourism Policy
Aware of the importance of maintaining sustainable tourism development, and assuming the principles specifically adopted in the World Charter for Sustainable Tourism, the company NatureLousã – Turismo e Aventura undertakes to carry out a sustainable management of its activities, through the adoption of guided commitments to prevent, eliminate or reduce the impact of our facilities and activities, both internal and external, as well as to optimize the establishment's sustainability by improving its behavior towards the environment.
For this purpose, NatureLousã – Turismo e Aventura has adopted the following responsible tourism policy, whereby it undertakes to comply with the requirements established in the Biosphere Responsible Tourism framework, which includes, among other things, the legal requirements that regulate the effects generated by tourist activity.
Thus, we commit to motivate and train our employees with training and awareness-raising on the principles of Responsible Tourism, to promote good environmental practices and participate in external activities, and to inform both internally and externally about environmental advances and actions from the company.
We are also committed to fighting sexual exploitation, or any other form of commercial exploitation and harassment, particularly of children, adolescents, women and minorities. We also include the commitment to adopt accessibility measures for people with disabilities (sensory, physical, intellectual and mental).
One of our main objectives is to improve sustainable management, assuming the commitment to continuous improvement in all areas of sustainability: social, economic and environmental, as well as customer satisfaction. For this, future projects for expansion of facilities or activities will be subject to the criteria of sustainability and efficiency in the use of resources.
This Responsible Tourism Policy will be updated whenever circumstances so require, adopting and publishing in both cases new sustainability objectives.
